PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Eco-friendly packaging can increase consumer recognition and trust in your brand. Itchen Packaging's compostable pouches are made using renewable technology. All components are made from fully biodegradable and compostable materials. Use 100% compostable material: PLA, PBS, Cellulose or paper. Use 100% compostable zippers and one-way degassing valves. They break down into healthy compost leaving no microplastics and are made from certified compostable materials. Available in both high and low barrier options. Bag materials comply with both European and American compost standards (EN 13432 and ASTM D6400) and are certified for both home and industrial compostable.

1. The outer printing layer can be 100% degradable Kraft paper, PLA, or NK. Kraft paper is sustainable and among one of the most popular packaging materials in the world. This material is light, soft and comfortable, and can be printed in color. Printing on PLA, NK is also available.

2. The middle barrier layer can be PLA, VMPLA, NK or NKME. PLA is low barrier. VMPLA is metalized PLA for excellent enhanced barrier for moisture and gas. NK is a transparent high barrier heat-sealable compostable film, with the feature of high barrier to water vapor, moisture and oxygen. NKME is silver, if needs to prevent UV lights, NKME will be used as the middle layer. They are all biodegradable and compostable.

3. The inner heat sealing layer can be PBS or PLA. PBS is acid-resistant, non-toxic, odorless, has good stability, and meets the hygiene standards for food packaging. Polylactic acid (PLA) is a polymer obtained by polymerization of lactic acid as the main raw material. The raw material source is sufficient and can be regenerated. The main raw material is corn and cassava. The production process of PLA is pollution-free, and the product can be biodegradable, and realize the circulation in nature, so it is an ideal green polymer material.
